The Mason Cash Heritage
For over 200 years Mason Cash has been making fine pottery for home cooks and bakers. The pottery originates from the Derbyshire county in England where natural deposits of clay and coal were abundant and facilitated the ‘cane’ colored earthenware that Mason Cash is known. The classic mixing bowl was first fired in 1901 with an exterior pattern design that is still seen in current products. While the Mason Cash brand evolves and innovates for the modern needs in the kitchen they promise to uphold the English Heritage that has brought such great designed and useful earthenware and kitchenware. Mason Cash is fully committed to bringing the highest quality, superb function and beautiful design aspects to all their products; after all, they have been the first choice for the home cook and baker for decades.
Mason Cash has been the choice of home cooks and bakers for centuries. The origins of Mason Cash can be traced back to a pottery operating at Church Gresley in the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. Church Gresley was located close to all the raw material and fuel sources required to make ceramics and had fantastic transport links to take finished goods all over the UK and the world.
The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters of whom the most colourful was ‘Bossy’ Mason, which is where the ‘Mason’ name came from in the 1800’s. Tom Cash acquired the pottery in 1901 and renamed the company Mason Cash & Co.
Mason Cash had been producing mixing bowls during the 1800’s, but in 1901 they designed and manufactured the very first iconic Mason Cash mixing bowl. The design of the bowl has endured the test of time and has become something of a design classic. In fact, the design has barely altered since then, which is why the brand is still renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today.
Mason Cash offers a beautiful selection of kitchenware, oven to tableware, tabletop items, pet bowls and cake decorating equipment as well as our much-loved mixing bowls. All of our products are lovingly designed in England and are popular not just in the UK, but across the globe.
A design classic, the Mason Cash Cane mixing bowls were first developed in 1901, but are still as relevant today. Made from earthenware, the mixing bowl is light enough to hold in one arm while mixing, but sturdy enough when using on the counter top, making it the perfect bowl for home or professional bakers. The distinct patterned exterior and rim is designed to help bakers grip and tip the bowl, while the wide shallow shape allows for kneading within the bowl. The Size 12 Cane Mixing bowl measures 29cm x 14cm, with a capacity of 4 litres, making this a perfect size for dough, pastry, cake or cookie mixes. The bowl is dishwasher and freezer safe. The traditional cane colour has been a classic for Mason Cash for centuries, with a high-gloss glaze providing a chip resistant finish. Mason Cash offer mixing bowls in a wide variety of sizes and colours, providing options for every baker and to suit all kitchens. Mason Cash was established in the heart of the English ceramic industry back in 1800 and has become world renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today.
